Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a conversation with Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian. We talked about many things, ranging from healthcare to economics to politics. The common thread that ran through the full conversation, however, was that we human beings are deep and vast, and our capacity for health in the highest sense beckons us.
Economics is about the creation and management of prosperity. Health is about the creation and management of our potential as expressions of life. And politics is how we live with and share prosperity and potential within and between cultures.
When we see these fields broadly, we can ask deep questions. Where does prosperity truly originate? What is health? How do we share prosperity with those who are like us and those who seem different from us?
I believe that at our core, we all want similar things, no matter our backgrounds, titles, salaries, or otherwise. When leaders across sectors can come together and explore the deepest questions about who we are, what we want, and how we can share this and bring true health to this world, good work is set in motion.
