How to create change in healthcare

It's easy to want something.
It's easy to join a cause.
It's easy to support something from within ourselves.
It's easy to cheerlead.
It's easy to get a title.
But it's not easy to effect systemic change.
Systems are the way they are for a reason. Healthcare is the way it is for a reason. For many reasons.
Changing healthcare means changing the reasons. Changing reasons means changing the way we think. Changing the way we think means changing the way we act.
So, the question is, are we ready to act differently? Not in line with even our own standard thinking! Because the truth is, much of even our own thought is recycled. Thoughts of revolution and justice, even, are recycled.
What is not recycled is the thought that is connected to the action of change - the thought and action that seem to contradict prevailing wisdom, even the prevailing sense of what is right.
This moment of inertia and fear is what is to be engaged, brought into the light, and transformed through action.
When one tries to do this, they will begin to learn the true meaning of change.
Everything else is easy.
